Power-cycling a terminal
A proper restart fixes a surprising number of faults.
Why it helps
A power-cycle clears temporary glitches in the terminal's memory and forces it to reconnect cleanly. It's the first thing we'll ask you to try.
Restart from the keypad
Hold the yellow key and the full-stop (.) key together for around three seconds until the screen goes dark and reboots.
Full power-down if needed
If it's really stuck, power it off completely and, on a base-powered unit, unplug the base for thirty seconds before reconnecting.
Let it reconnect
Leave it on the home screen for a minute to find the network, then take a test payment. If it still misbehaves, call us.
