Changing the APN on a 4G router
Update the mobile data settings on your 4G/failover router.
What an APN is
The APN (Access Point Name) tells the router which mobile network to use for data. If it's wrong, the SIM won't get online even with good signal.
Log in to the router
Connect to the router, open a browser and go to its admin address (often printed on the label). Enter the admin username and password.
Find the mobile/APN settings
Look under Mobile, WAN or SIM settings for the APN field. Enter the APN we've supplied for your SIM exactly as given, then save.
Reconnect and test
The router will reconnect on the mobile network — give it a minute, then check a terminal comes online. If you're unsure, call us and we'll do it remotely.
